Welcome to Your New Life
Transcript
Hello, I’m David Cerullo. Thanks for joining me. This is the beginning of a new series I call, “30 Keys to Your Spiritual Growth.” When you accepted Jesus as your Savior and Lord, the Bible says the angels in Heaven began throwing a party in honor of you. It’s true! God’s word says in Luke, chapter 15, there is great rejoicing in the presence of God’s angels over one sinner who repents.
So when you asked Jesus to forgive your sins and become your Lord and Savior, you became a child of God, part of the family of God… a Christian. John, one of Jesus’ original disciples, wrote in John, chapter 1, “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right…” Another translation says, “He gave the power to become the sons of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
Christianity is not just another religion. It’s a personal relationship with a living God! God is real. He is alive. He loves you. This amazing love was demonstrated when He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to earth to die for your sins on the cross.
And because God loves you and He knows you, He wants you to know and love Him. When Jesus was asked about which commandment in the Bible was the most important, He said without hesitation, “Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
Being a Christian isn’t about rules and regulations. It’s not about man’s manipulation in your life— it’s about RELATIONSHIP. That’s why God has given you the Bible. He’s given you the Bible to help you know more about Him so you can develop an intimate personal relationship with Him as your Heavenly Father. And that’s why the Bible is the most important book that you will ever read.
Think of this as God’s voice to you. He speaks to you through His Word. As you read the Bible, you’re going to discover it’s full of rich, wonderful truths that will help you live successfully in this life and in the life to come. The more you read and the more you meditate on God’s Word, the stronger your relationship with Him becomes.
As you grow in your relationship with the Lord, you’re going to experience a fuller, more abundant and more joyful life.
I’ve talked to a lot of people who have made the decision to become a Christ follower. And they’ve asked me, “David, what’s next? What do I do now?” Well, that’s why I developed these keys to help answer those questions and to help you grow in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
As you join me for these keys, I believe you’re going to grow in your knowledge of who God is and what it means to live in His favor. More than just growing in your knowledge about Him, my prayer for you is that you will grow in your relationship with Him. So get ready for an exciting journey discovering the keys to experiencing a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I pray your life will never be the same!
