Who Stole Your Blessings? Recovering God’s Plan
(Based on Session 1 “Who Stole Your Blessings? Recovering God’s Plan” with David Cerullo)
What You’ll Learn:
Have you ever wondered why God’s blessings seem out of reach—even when you’re walking in faith? In this session, David Cerullo reveals how generations of believers lost access to God’s supernatural provision … and how you can reclaim it by returning to His appointed times.
God’s Desire Is to Bless You
God isn’t withholding His blessing—He’s always wanted to bless you in fantastic ways—in every part of your life:
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.” – James 1:17 (ESV)
But somewhere along the way, the church lost sight of this truth. Centuries ago, man-made traditions began to replace God’s biblical patterns—and the church disconnected from the very cycles designed to release His favor.
How the Early Church Lived in God’s Blessing
In 300 AD, the early church was thriving—despite persecution. Why?
Because they still had a Hebrew mindset. The Israelites honored God’s principles of:
- Giving and sowing in faith
- Celebrating His appointed times
- Walking in covenant obedience
They weren’t chasing prosperity. They simply trusted God’s design—and blessing followed.
What Changed … and What We Lost
As the church adapted to culture, it began neglecting God’s divine cycles.
Instead of walking in faith and celebration, many embraced a poverty mindset—mistaking lack for holiness.
The result?
- Missed opportunities to receive from God
- Less capacity to give and make impact
- A distorted view of God’s character
But this was never God’s plan. His Word says:
“I will bless you … so that you will be a blessing.” – Genesis 12:2–3 (ESV)
“God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him.” – Psalm 67:7 (ESV)
Blessing Is Part of Your Covenant
The words bless, blessed, and blessing appear 474 times in Scripture. That’s not a side note—it’s a theme woven throughout the entire Bible. Scripture is filled with promises of God’s blessing—for every part of life:
- Spiritual vitality
- Physical strength and healing
- Family restoration
- Financial provision
- Peace and protection
Genesis 24:1 records that God blessed Abraham “in all things.” Galatians 3:14 connects these blessings to you through Christ, who took the curse on Himself:
“… so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles …” (ESV)
You’re Blessed to Be a Blessing
God doesn’t bless you for your benefit alone—He wants others to see His goodness through your life. His favor is meant to:
- Prove His faithfulness
- Meet needs through you
- Open hearts to the Gospel
For too long, the church has settled for less. But God’s promises haven’t changed. When you align your life with His appointed times and principles, you’ll unlock blessings He always intended for you to have.
Reflection Question
How could returning to God’s cycles of giving and celebration reposition you to receive—and give—more freely?
Prayer
Father, thank You that Your plan for me includes blessing in every area of life. Let my life overflow with generosity, joy, and peace, so others may see Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
